Do you know I think it's been a year Shock since we began our Cook Book Club. Feel free to join in, the more the merrier.

This month we have the French Brasserie cookbook, currently only £4.12 on kindle and Delia's Summer Collection, I've had this for years yet rarely cooked from it.

I've bought it so don't include me HQ but what a fab idea!!! Looking forward to the cook along.

Cantdothisagain · 07/05/2014 10:45

Oh and I made the chicken basque this weekend too - reminds me of my late teens when we ate it a lot. Lovely.

LeonardoAcropolis · 07/05/2014 12:05

How exciting! Very generous of MNHQ

I cooked the salmon with saffron cous cous crust last night, very nice. There is a little too much cous cous though? Or maybe my salmon steaks were too small. The tomato and olive vinaigrette was delicious, I will certainly make that again.

I also tried the halloumi with capers and lime, very very good.

I've bought the French brasserie book Blush and fallen in love with it. Will report back with my plans.

pregnantpause · 07/05/2014 12:08

Oh, that's wonderful! And it'd sort one of our books for June Wink

spiderbabymum · 07/05/2014 12:11

Can I have one

spiderbabymum · 07/05/2014 12:13

I'd like to join ....but what do you do .....get the book and then chat about things you've made ?

pregnantpause · 07/05/2014 12:19

We pick two books a month( or blogs or magazines) and try to cook two new recipes from each. We post reviews of stuff we've already made from the books and whether the new things were good or bad. But that makes it sound more formal than it is Wink

Sounds like the halloumi is a must then.
I'm going to try both the hollandaise- the Delia light version and the French version and see which is best. In the interest of cookbook club of course. Not because I could happily drink a vat of hollandaise, and have excess asparagusGrin

HuevosRancheros · 07/05/2014 12:20

Ooh, yes please MNHQ :)

Pantah630 · 07/05/2014 12:21

We had asparagus in the veg box yesterday, i need to make one and haven't cooked from FB yet so will try the classic one.

Good to have another on board spider

Pantah630 · 07/05/2014 16:54

What have you had done madame? If kitchen will be very Envy but would love to hear all about it and live vicariously through yours. DH put a damper on my new kitchen dreams, mine is 20+years old and falling apart :(

madamecake · 07/05/2014 17:18

We had a loft conversion done, so no exciting kitchen stories I'm afraid. Sorry to hear you won't get your new kitchen, your current one sounds like our bathroom, which I think is as old as the house - late Victorian!

spiderbabymum · 07/05/2014 17:31

OH THAT'S fantastic ...I got one . Promise to join and try some yummy family grub !!!!!!!
