or even questions

  1. How does one roll out icing .. you know those ready made coloured blocks from supermarkets .. without it sticking to everywhere (don't say sprinkle icing sugar .. it doesn't work)

  2. How do you get the pips out of pomegranate without all the horrible pith with it

  3. .. can't think

there are more I'm sure

sprinkle cornflour instead of icing sugar, coat your hands and the rolling pin in it.

Use a cocktail stick

Sprinkle cornflour, and it helps if your kitchen top is cool

Pomegranate - cut in half, turn each half inside out and rub with your fingers

  1. wrap in a large peice of cling film (?maybe?)
MamaG · 25/08/2006 09:35

pomegranate - cut in half, hold "cut" side down and bash with a wooden spoon - sounds mental but it really does work, and its fun

Question:-

  1. How do you make aubergine taste nice?
Greensleeves · 25/08/2006 09:37

rub pieces of aubergine with lemon juice, black pepper and a bit of paprika, then fry it lightly in olive oil

Twiglett · 25/08/2006 09:38

MamaG .. aubergine ... cut into slices or chunks, stick in a sieve and add lots of salt .. cover with heavy plate for 30 mins to 1 hour .. then squeeze out moisture

stick in a roasting pan with peeled cherry tomatos, fennel, onion, courgettes, mixed peppers, garlic, olive oil

roast for 40 mins or so

ooo yum

Roast whole with skins for 30-60 mins or until they go soft and floppy! Scoop out the flesh and mash with natural yogurt, olive oil, lemon and seasonings to taste, we love coriander or mint and paprika, serve with mini nan breads.

just remembered this works even better if you put the aubergines on a bbq!
