How long will a 2.1kg leg of lamb take to defrost?

Just that really!

I'm aiming to have Sunday lunch at 1pm. So I was thinking of taking it out the freezer tomorrow morning. Will that be enough time?

I defrosted a medium turkey crown for 24 hours at Christmas and it still wasn't defrosted! So I'm not sure I trust my timings.

Ours is out defrosting now for Sunday lunch, it's big enough for 11-12 people though.

I'm not sure how many mine would feed. Never cooked a leg of lamb before

It depends how you defrost it.

It takes at least 36 hours to defrost the same size joint of beef in my fridge and even then its not always ready for Sunday lunch.

If you defrost it in a bowl of water and change the water every few hours it will probably take about 24 hours.

I'd get it out now and defrost in the fridge as it will be fine there for at least 24 hours once completely thawed.

I took it out at 5pm after seeing your post crazykat.

It's in the fridge so hopefully if it's defrosted way before it'll still be okay in the fridge until Sunday.
