Fish Pie- anyone know if I can put into oven with raw fish?

I am looking for the most simple, and quick way to make a fish pie. I've found a couple of recipes which suggest that you can cut up the fish and add it to a white sauce raw, before cooking the pie.

I've always poached the fish before but I find it a faff so am keen to avoid it.

Has anyone done it this way. Did it work out ok?

Thanks gin, I'll go for it then.

Does 25min at 180 degrees (fan) sound about right?

I do too.

Made the cheat's fish pie in last week's sainsbos mag and put the fish in raw. It said 15 - 20 minutes but I did it for double that and it still wasn't hot in the middle - It was quite a dense one though....

Me too and it's a winner. I cook for about 35 mins and make sure it is piping hot.
