I'll start- pile of home made pakora, some chicken ones & some veg ones, with chilli sauce and yogurt dip. Served with salad. Not the healthiest by the kids have been asking for them for a week or two.

What's yours?

I am also slow roasting a shoulder of pork, with mustard and cider among other things. Going to 'pull' it later and have with tiger rolls, sweet potato wedges and coleslaw.

Yum thurs
And where can you buy baby figs remus? I have had them in Pizza Express with crem fraiche (sp?) and they were lovely.

Giraffeski · 16/03/2014 16:02

Roast dinner at the ILs- so not sure which variety but just so glad I don't have to cook it myself. Currently suffering from horrendous morning sickness but FILs roast potatoes are to die for so hoping they feature as I think I could eat a massive plate full of them alone!

atthestrokeoftwelve · 16/03/2014 16:05

remus I'm not keen on deep fat frying either. I have a huge pot, 12" high, and put in 4" of oil to keep things safe.

I cook pakora in small batches amf transfer to a plate lined with kitchen roll.

I hope it goes better than my attempt at sticky toffee pudding this morning. That went in the bin Sad
Like the sound of a sausage and cheese sandwich Checky

DH making barbecue (braai in S African parlance). Chicken and sausages. Mieliepap (maize meal) with tomato and onion sauce. Mixed veg. I am working upstairs and he will call me when it is ready!!

CointreauVersial · 16/03/2014 16:15

Planning to have a Barbecue here! And it's March!! Grin Grin Sausages, burgers, marinated chicken and salad.

PeggyTheGuineaPig · 16/03/2014 16:16

Mmmmm sticky toffee pudding. I have never even attempted to make anything like that, I must try one day.

Whitershadeofpale · 16/03/2014 16:17

Roast chicken with zatar and lemon. Roast onions and peppers with oregano and garlic. When these come out of the oven I'm going to toss through some feta and mint.

To go with homemade flatbreads and a chilled glass of rose Grin

Charlie - the baby figs are fresh ones from Sainsbo's, but they are not as baby as the yummy Pizza Express ones, which I think are probably dried and then soaked in booze before cooking. The Pizza Express ones are with marscapone, I think - the only reason I ever go to PE tbh!

xalyssx · 16/03/2014 16:26

Homemade macaroni cheese tonight. We were going to have it last night, but DP had friends over so I did the roast then.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/03/2014 16:26

I really, really want pakora now. :(

CheckpointCharlie · 16/03/2014 16:55

Ta remus I might be and get some tomorrow!

I am being good and having Linda McCartney sausages with mash and veg, very SW friendly more so than the sausage sandwich earlier Grin

Well Peggy, if you ever do, let me know how it turns out Grin
Mine is looking v sad in the bottom of the bin right now

Capitola · 16/03/2014 18:10

This is making me want figs! But with salad & Parma ham.

atthestrokeoftwelve, I can cook, but my dh loves it with a passion so we have gradually got into a set up where he does it all as he's so good at it. If he's away the kids generally get pasta.

FabBakerGirl · 16/03/2014 18:18

I am probably going to have cheese on home made bread, toasted and crisps. Made by DH.

I made lunch - roast chicken, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, stuffing, sprouts, green beans and gravy. Mango, cherries, kiwi and a banana, walnut and choc chip muffin.

FabBakerGirl · 16/03/2014 18:20

I forgot the parsnips! We always have parsnips Grin.

PoloMintCity · 16/03/2014 18:25
