Where do you buy your dried organic beans/pulses?

I'm finding it more difficult to find any of them (apart from red lentils) from any supermarkets and even Planet Organic online has a really poor selection of dried beans, instead expecting you to shell out on expensive tins.

Can anyone recommend a good website? I found Suma Wholefoods and thought I'd come up trumps but then realised they only do wholesale - ggrrrr!

At the Asian (Pakistani) supermarket....vast choice.

Holland and Barrett when the penny sale is on, or the health food or wholefood shop.

I'll try our local Asian supermarket and H&B. The health food shop in town doesn't stock any because she said there's no point as the major supermarkets stock them - even when I said that they don't she wasn't interested. Makes you wonder how some people manage to stay in business when they don't exploit gaps in the market!

Ocado have a good selection

I get mine from the supermarket because a) they're dirt cheap, b) the stock turnover means they'll be fresh and c) there's usually a good selection of different pulses. The reason others don't stock them is that they are a low value item and there is very little profit in the things.

You can buy Infinity Foods from online supplier. I have not tried them but they have an amazing selection.

Thanks - I've been into Infinity a couple of times but they always seem to be out of stock of some of the selection. I did find a good website Buywholefoodsonline, but I'll check your suggestion as well.

None of the majors do any of the beans - all of them seem to be cutting their organic ranges drastically.

I get all my grains and pulses there. If something is not on the shelf they will check the store for you and weigh some out. The seem to do delivery too but just in the local area I think
