I have friends over for dinner on Saturday who will appreciate an ironic and pretentious but delicious dish featuring balsamic pearls. Any suggestions? I am thinking a scallops/bacon/salad thingy.

I have a jar in the fridge, and sneak them on their own.

I treated myself to some earlier. I put them on a simple tomato salad. A decent firm marmonde and a couple of different heirloom cherry toms, cut up with sea salt and fresh ground black pepper with some of the pearls, very tasty indeed. Think they'd go well with scallops and black pudding too.

What are they???
