this recipe

It said whisk until it thickens and I kind of didnt read that bit. I've put it into ramekin dishes and its very liquidy, was hoping as it cools it'll set. Should I put it back into a bowl and whisk?

Risky. What they were getting you to make was a thick white sauce before adding the chocolate and butter. So what it really needs is heat to thicken it but I wouldn't do that now you've added the chocolate etc. Wait until it has gone cold and, if it is still runny, I would make a very thick white sauce with another tablespoon of flour and half the quantity of milk previously used. Whisk until really thick, allow to cool and then fold in the original mousse mixture and a little more chocolate. I'm sure it'll taste lovely whatever you do :)

Just chuck in the rest of the amaretto and drink it.

Well it tastes lovely. I've been drinking some. Grin

I've tried whisking it but its not going stiff. I think I might go and buy some marscopone and blend that in.

I've added two tubs of mascopone and whisked loads, still liquid. I have people coming for dinner and we're going to have to have pudding through a straw!

I have icing sugar would that help? Cream?

Ok, have added half a bag of icing sugar as well and its a bit better but not much.

did you heat it at all??? It's never going to thicken unless you did.

make this mousse instead

or warm up what you have and pass it off as some sort of new adult afterdinner hot chocolate

Put it in the freezer..... ice cream parfait!

VivaLeBeaver · 17/01/2014 17:38

I've stuck it in the fridge now. Its got about two hours so cross your fingers and pray for a miracle as otherwise I'm getting the straws out.
