It must have been on special offer because there it is and I don't have a clue what to do with it. Fishcakes?

Kedgeree surely? Yum :)

Artandco · 11/01/2014 22:16

Fish pie

InTheRedCorner · 11/01/2014 22:16

Flake it, mix with creme Fraiche and chopped spring onions and eat on cold toast.

Or fishcakes

nkf · 11/01/2014 22:16

I think I made that once with salmon and it didn't go down well.

Ooh. I like the sound of the creme Fraiche. A bit like a pate, yes?

Haddock poached with cheese sauce
Kedgeree

NachoAddict · 11/01/2014 22:18

Smoked Haddock and pea risotto, we had it earlier this week and I could have gone on eating it forever it was so delicious!

MorrisZapp · 11/01/2014 22:18

Ooh smoked fish in milk. A childhood staple of mine.

Sauté some onions, place the fish on top. Cover with milk. Cook until fish flakes.

Serve with mash and peas every week for ten years

Tis lush.

Shesaysso · 11/01/2014 22:18

Smoked haddock risotto - delicious -just make plain risotto and add fish 5 mins from end.

PfftTheMagicDraco · 11/01/2014 22:18

risotto!

mummybare · 11/01/2014 22:18

This is yum with mash and peas. And really easy.

waterlego6064 · 11/01/2014 22:19

Cor, I love smoked haddock.

Fish pie, definitely. In a nice white sauce with some salmon and maybe also some prawns or cod. Mmmmm.

I also really like this. It's ridiculously healthy but really tasty.

waterlego6064 · 11/01/2014 22:19

Oooh yes, and risotto!

nkf · 11/01/2014 22:19

Like the sound of the risotto, but I think it might go the same way as the kedgeree. Hmm. I get the impression that onions and something dairy but light is the way to go.

Just suggested this on another thread: poach or microwave, serve on a bed of buttered spinach with a fried egg on top.

Extremewife · 11/01/2014 22:20

Macaroni and haddock cheese yum yum

Fragglewump · 11/01/2014 22:21

Chowder?

sooperdooper · 11/01/2014 22:21

Chowder :) there's a fan recipe on Bbc food, it's really tasty

JumpJockey · 11/01/2014 22:21

Cullen skink, aka smoked haddock chowder. You can do it two ways - either poach the fish as MorrisZapp says, then add to a fairly simple onion and potato soup and use the fishy milk for extra flavour. Or just cube up the raw fish (take the skin off first) and then add for about 5 mins at the end of cooking aforementioned onion and potato soup. You can posh it up with a few chopped chives and a bit of cream.

I used this as art of the early seduction of my husband, so must be good! Grin

The lentil one looks good too. Thank you. One of those recipes will be made tomorrow.

Egg? Really?

Blend with Creme fraiche, season and good squirt of lemon juice. Yummy pate

AngelaDaviesHair · 11/01/2014 22:24

Really. Smoked haddock and egg is a great combination (hence kedgeree). It makes a mean fish curry too.
