First time I've made it and it smells divine.

I quite like a doner now and again Blush This seems like a healthier version. At least I know what's in it. I saw the lamb before it was minced and put the herbs and spices in myself.

We're having it with marinated chicken pieces, pitta, and salad - with cabbage of course.

Think I'll make some chilli sauce and garlic sauce too?

For anyone who's interested here's how I've done it.

500g minced lamb. 1 tsp salt, 0.5 tsp black pepper, 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 cloves garlic (or 0.5 tsp garlic powder) 1 tsp dried oregano, 0.5 tsp dried mixed herbs.

Mix really well for 5 mins. Shape into rectangle and put in SC for 3 to 3.5 hours high, 6 or 7 low. Says keep an eye on it though or else can spoil. I'm going for 3 on high and see if it's ready?

Great idea. Do you reckon it would work as well with beef mince?

I'm goinv try this recipe at the weekend - thanks for sharing

It was great, all got eaten Smile

Yes I think beef will be fine, but I'd use ordinary not minced steak or lean. You need some fat to stop it drying out. Mine took less than 3 hours on high.

The idea came from slowcookedwonders group on FB. I'm trying to do more slow cooking since starting work in June. I've not had any disasters yet.

Garlic sauce was lush too. I just used mayonnaise mixed with full fat milk. You could use single cream. Plus pinch of salt and some fresh garlic.

This version sounds nice. Think I'll do this next time soon.
