the guy on the butcher counter asked me if i had room in my freezer (wondered at first if it was some peculiar double entendre). then offered me 2 kilos of shoulder of lamb for £2.40 (instead of £8.75) as it needs to be eaten/frozen today. so i said yes. i now have a large shoulder of lamb and not the foggiest what to do with it. all suggestions welcome.

I'd probably roast it ( stabbed with garlic and rosemary) or make Irish stew
