I'd chuck in the tinned tomoatoes and probably go for..... the cannelini or butter beans. No real idea as to which you should use but I like your style of cooking!

Saute onion and carrots, add meat and seal for 5 mins. Add water, stock cube, salt and pepper and bouquet garni and a tin tomatoes. Leave to cook for 'ages'. Then at the end add a tin of cannellini beans. Delicious! Serve with mash.

Am really sorry to hijack your thread, Twiglett, but could you give me the link for the Chinese calendar thingy to find out the sex of baby etc (I know it isnt accurate but a friend wanted to see it!!) Sorry........back to cooking now!

Stick some guiness in before the water. Let the alcohol evaporate and then add water and stock cube.

Dh says to use the lentils if you are using guiness.

Great! Glad it worked out OK.....kids are weird with food.....ds tucked in to a plate of vegetable couscous tonight and usually wouldnt try anything like that! His tastes change every day
