do you have to marinade overnight or would a couple of hours do it?

these all sound delicious.

Cod - he was doing 6.30 consistently but over last few days it's crept back to 6 - still miles better than 5/5.30 though.

Hi, my ds loves chicken with honey, soy and worcestor (sp?) sauce.
It works also if you just fry the chicken in the sauce if you don't have time to marinade.
I throw in 4-5 different veg and serve with noodles-guaranteed success!

singersgirl · 17/07/2006 20:49

We do golden syrup, spring onions, garlic, a bit of oil and a pinch of salt (though you could leave out the salt of course). Sweet and sticky!

cardy · 18/07/2006 12:13

Soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger, the longer you leave it the better. The salt in the soy sauce make it really tender. We usually have this in a stir fry or made into kababs.

Annabel Karmel usually adds apple juice to hers.

Been doing this for all of us, is delish.

Best to leave it in the marinade overnight, for the nicest flavour:

Lemon Juice, Olive Oil, Garlic (bash couple of cloves with flat of knife and bung in, basil or rosemary or parsley, black pepper. add to chicken portions: breasts/legs etc, then grill or do in the oven. I've served it with veg and pots, roasted veg, rice and sald etc etc.

honey, orange juice and zest, lime juice and a bit of cumin

rabbitrabbit · 19/07/2006 12:31

am so pleased
It's really quick isn't it. All little friends love it also so it's a real 'get out of jail free' card!

speedymama · 19/07/2006 15:31

What are the quantities for your sauce rabbitrabbit. I fancy giving it a go. TIA

tassis · 19/07/2006 15:33

I do chicken legs in runny honey, tomato ketchup, soy sauce and grainy mustard. Lovely

rabbitrabbit · 19/07/2006 15:37

Hi speedymama, tbh I don't have any hard set quantities other than generally (for 2 chicken breasts) I use 2tbls of soy, 1 honey and 1 worcester sauce. Alot depends on size of chicken you're using etc but I usually end up with enough to coat the chicken in and enough in end of bowl/pan to spoon over.
I try to use the lo-salt soy also as that just tastes better (as well as salt issues).

I do a really quick chicken thing with chicken breasts cut into strips. Dust the pieces with paprika, then stir fry for 5 mins. Once cooked add lemon juice and a tablespoon of soy sauce and cook hard so it reduces. You can serve like this or add creme fraiche to make a more creamy and less in your face sauce. Lovely with pasta.

rabbitrabbit · 20/07/2006 10:23

meant to say that I tried replacing the worcester sauce with sweet chilli sauce and I think ds prefers it!
