I'd like to make a few bits and pieces to give to my parents, PIL etc and for my DD to help me to make. I think we need to make them over the next few weekends or evenings as I am working right up to Xmas. So far we have made gingerbread (rolled, cut and frozen) which I will bake a day or two before Xmas. Does anyone have any good ideas? I think 3-5 things would make a nice selection.

Last year when my son was nearly 3 at Christmastime, we baked and then assembled and decorated a gingerbread house. It was the highlight of the season for him! We made a couple more to give to the neighbours. He loved that! We made ours covered in smarties and brightly coloured sweets that he had never seen before. At Christmas, we each nibbled a few off every day. The ones we made for neighbours had marshmallows stuck to the top of the roof (the little pink and white ones) and icing sugar dusted onto the cake board for "snow". You can be really creative! Coconut makes more durable "snow" by the way!

Rocky Road you could substitute some of the dark choc for milk if you like it sweeter and less chocolatey. We do half'n'half if the kids are eating it. Raisins/apricots make a nice addition or go Christmassy and add cranberries.

I like it just the way it is though - intensely bitter sweet chocolate, melting in the mouth, crunchy, chewy - it's got it all going on!

Reindeer biscuits? Use a gingerbread man cutter upside down (the head becomes the reindeer nose, the legs the antlers) i
