How to rescue my over-salted soup

I made a celery soup earlier, and thought it tasted too bland. I have put in too much salt - it is crazily salty?

Any way to detract from the salty taste?

Please?

I think potato helps to take out the saltiness.

Apparently adding some potatoes (to be removed, not eaten) will reduce the saltiness, but I've never actually done it.

Yup - some big chunks of peeled potato that you remove or double ingredients to make extra large pot of soup - but don't add more salt!!

I always find a bit of cream helps with saltiness too.
