Accidentally Vegan Supermarket Christmas foods

Vegans we need a tread to post vegan food for Christmas on :) I know we can bake all the stuff but it's nice to find an accidentally vegan shop version, pudding, cake, mince pies etc. I still have mince pies in freezer from last year not even sure where I got them but bought loads as vegan.

I'll start the ball rolling, Tesco Sweet Chilli snack mix and Tesco Christmas tortilla shapes maple bacon flavour.

Anything else spotted?

Great idea, Vivaldi!

Lidl again - chocolate liqueurs (but only the cherry brandy ones), chocolate covered bars of marzipan and two types of German spicy biscuits, one with flaked almonds. Look for the Favorina (spelling?) brand.

There are also chocolate discs covered with hundreds and thousands, which are a bit too gritty for me.

All year round they have a lovely Fair Trade dark chocolate bar, costing just £1.

And last year they had vegan sorbets - banana being our favourite flavour - but I'm not sure that was Christmas related.

This probably isn't the place to mention it, but I have a recipe for a vegan Christmas loaf on my blog - full of marzipan and cherries and nuts. I'm about to start a separate thread about Christmas breads, so keep an eye out.

Cheers, B&W

WOW breadandwine I'm currently searching for a vegan Christmas cake recipe as last years was a great disappointment. Can I have a link to your blog please?

Another trip to Lidl I think, there are lots of stuff there that is vegan even marked vegan wish other supermarkets would do the same. I take soup for lunch every day and love Lidl garlic croutons sad I know but I don't have time to bake croutons.

I'd love to look at your blog :)

Marking this post so I can refer to it when I next go to Lidl!

Thanks for the Christmas loaf looks delicious!

Another couple of finds, Asda £1 6 pk Christmas Rich Fruit Mince Pies appear vegan as does their ASDA Classic Christmas Pudding 454g £2

Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisp Dark Chocolates on offer in Tesco & Asda 1/2 price £2 appear vegan. As do both Tesco & Asda mint thins (not after eight mints it contains milk) both made in factory that uses milk (disclaimer). Also Asda do orange thins again same notice about milk.

I'm a great fan of chilli chocolate, and I've been getting a weekly 100g bar of Montezuma's (from HF shop) at around £2.50 - or a 110g bar at £2.99 from Mr Simms.

But now I've discovered Lindt's wonderful Chilli Choc at around £1.80 a bar. It's superior in every way to the other two - and it's in most supermarkets.
