Is it okay to sear tuna steaks in a pan, and then freeze them?

Matey who I was cooking for got stuck on a job, so I popped the cooked tuna in the freezer. But this feels instinctively wrong. Not sure why. So is it okay to thaw the tuna and re-fry it?

It depends if its been previously frozen. If it has, it's not recommended. Although you can refreeze once cooked but I guess seared is a grey area.

If not, I don't see why not. Personally I would, it's not like its chicken or shellfish.

Thanks Disappointed - as much as I love tuna, and it isn't cheap, I'm going to pass on it. Was hoping someone would say "fine", but it doesn't seem worth the risk.
