Which Jelly (or recipes) for a 22 month old.

Hi all.

My DS had his first taste of jelly with us this week. DH bought from a supermarket a new little jelly in the shape of a well known pig cartoon character. He went absolutely crazy after on what must have been the biggest sugar rush of his life! Every day he now asks for jelly but I don't want to give him that one again.

Does anyone know which jelly (ready made or not) is ok for kids as they don't contain too much sugar? I'm not keen on him having ones that claim no added sugar but contain sweeteners instead.

Alternatively, has anyone got any healthy jelly recipes I could use please?

Thanks!

Hartley do sugar free ones, ready made or in sachets that you make up. Sure all the otehr brands do sugar free too...

Nigella does a nice vodka and lime one. Perhaps wait until you need him to sleep he's a bit older before you try that one Grin

I've seen Jamie Oliver doing jelly, I'm sure if you google it, you would find it.

You can make your own jelly

Just use the right amount of liquid and gelatine

There's some useful advice here www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/jun/15/universal-jelly-principle
