You coulddo it in 30 mins in a regular saucepan....

Ledodgyherring · 04/07/2006 08:26

LOL I realise that but i've heard it is lovely done in the slow cooker also if i can prepare it and stick it in this morning it saves me time as I have mil coming to babysit this afternoon (which means she will stay for tea tonight) while I have to go to a meeting at dd's school to be.

I don't think you'd need water.
Do it on low and add a slug of wine (white or red)

Ledodgyherring · 04/07/2006 08:28

cheers, I actually have some red wine left over from last night so will add that.

Brown everything (not essential but usually what I do). Chuck it all in. Don't add any water (tomatoes would be enough). Let it bubble away. If at the enf of cooking, you think it's too thick, add some boiling water. If it's too thin, add some gravy granules or thickening granules.

TY it's in there now only 9.26 am and tea is sorted how stepford wives am I!!

Stay away from the gravy granules or thickening granules,I exhort you.
It is Satan's dried poo.

Ledodgyherring · 04/07/2006 10:32

Quick update. OMG slow cooker spag bol is far nicer than done on the stove the meat melts in your mouth. It was lucky I did it too as dp's mum, dad and sister ended up joining us at the last minute!

tsk moondog - spag bol in 30 mins? I'm surprised at you - it needs at least an hour and a half to get to that lovely melt in the mouthness that LedodgyHerring describes.
