Recipe for black forest gateau wanted to make an old man very happy

Well, he's not that old, but it's my dad's 60th birthday party this weekend and I'd like to make him a black forest gateau. I know it's a bit dated and frankly, he's probably the only person who will eat it, but it's a big in-joke in our family that it's the only pudding he truly likes but my mum refuses to buy it for him as she hates it.
I've found a Delia recipe (and some others) but would rather have a tried and tested recipe if anyone has one. Thanks from me and my dad!

don't do a gateau but a big favourite with the men in our house is my black forest pudding.

you need:
large choc swiss roll (sliced)
2 packets of choc angel delight (made up)
2 cans of black cherry pie filling
whipped cream
choc flake

basically, layer up swissroll; cherry pie filling angel delight in a big glass round bowl - layer in this order and finish with angel delight. decorated with the whipped cream and choc flake, chill until served.
