The last 3 course meal I cooked for dh (pre DC!) was;

Onion tarte tatin with goats cheese and balsamic reduction,
Beef Bourguigone with dauphinoise potatoes,
Coconut creme brulee with raspberry compote.

It's his birthday soon so I may cook it again if he's lucky!

In summer I would make

Goats cheese wrapped in parma ham on salad topped with a drizzle of balsamic

Steak and salad with a peppercorn sauce

Strawberries with dark chocolate and white chocolate sauces to dip (double dipping is no problem between me and dh)

In autumn I make

Roast butternut squash with chilli lime and ginger in a winter salad

pan fried duck breast with a raspberry sauce and crisp roast potatoes

Chocolate fondant puddings

Im impressed. I like cooking but don't think I have ever cooked a three course meal for just dh and me. Smile

pregnantpause · 19/10/2013 07:37

Bling, I make them quite often- whenever dh and I eat alone in fact, I find it very boring cooking for two and to avoid saying sod it we'll order a takeaway, I can get more motivated if doing a big meal.

My current favorite is:

Tabbouleh
Moroccan Chicken with harissa
sliced cucumber in yoghurt
For pudding: Baklava

SuperiorCat · 19/10/2013 07:51

Mussels and crusty bread
Steak and proper chips
Banoffee pie

mrspremise · 19/10/2013 17:56

For DH's treats:
Garlic Mushrooms and Crusty Bread
Steak, Chips
Vanilla Cheesecake

For my treats:
Pâté, Toast and Chutney
Tarragon Chicken, Green Beans
Chocolate Mousse
Cheese and Biscuits

sorry, I always need a cheese course... Blush
