Bar actual dried fruit obviously....

Ds will eat humzingers and raisins till they come out his ears, but I like humzingers in that they seem like a treat but aren't bad for him. Tried the jordans ones this week, and they're huge and horridly stickly and he won't eat them. I don't like school bars as they're so sweet and you can actually crunch the sugar when eating them....

There is only 1 supermarket that I can find Humzingers in and when I visit it I buy loads to stock up.I find them a god send as DS doesn't eat any fresh fruit whatsoever. Only raisins, humzingers and recently he has been eating dried banana.

Moondog - Why are you so anti Humzingers?
I have googled them and looked at the ingredients. They contain the preservative Sulphur Dioxide which apparently is used for all dried fruit. Don't most foods contain similar preservatives?

I would love it if DS would eat fruit but he has a huge aversion to it. Think it's texture and wetness. I still present some to him every day and have been in all forms (drinks etc) for 2.7 years but so far dried fruit is the only way to get it in.

Boots stock them. Ds2 loves them - they're handy to keep in my bag for those whingy "I'm huuuuunnngrreeeeeeeee" moments.

pashmina · 29/06/2006 23:47

waitrose sell them

lunavix · 30/06/2006 18:28

Will have to make a weekly trip to waitrose! Wonder if makro do them in bulk martha - that's exactly why I have them.

Notanotter - I believe they're one of the only dried fruit bars with no added sugar or anythign similar. The jordans ones may be too, I bought them out of desperation for ds (so I think I'd have checked the ingredients) but they're huge and sticky lol he can't stand them.

Humzingers are great, even if they do look like dog chews.
