Th latest book is 'Save with Jamie', we had humble chicken stew last night (and at least once a week before that, the dumplings are to die for):
Oil in pan, add chopped up smoked bacon (I used pre-packaged pancetta cubes), brown then add onion, carrots & potatoes, bay leaves and thyme sprigs.
Cook for 10 mins, add leftover chicken, tblsp flour, stir well, then add stock. Bring to boil, cook for 40 mins.
If adding dumplings (Grate 125g cold butter into 250g s/r flour, rub in until like breadcrumbs, then bring to a dough with 100ml cold water. Shape into 12 small balls), add these after 20 mins, then cook for 30 mins in oven at gas 5.
