Can anyone tell me a easy slow cooker recipe for chilli con carne please??

I've just seen a chilli con carne in a slow cooker on a tele programme and it looked delicious - can anyone tell me an easy peasy recipe for doing it in a slow cooker - I know as much as mince and onions, and that you would need to fry them off first?? thanks in advance.

I guess the same as making one in a normal cooker but a bit more flour as they tend to be more liquid

what I do...

Fry for eg 500g mince and a couple of chopped onions

In a cup mix up

1 very heaped tsp flour (maybe a bit more for your slow cooker)
1 oxo cube or similar
1 tsp hot chocolate powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder or half a tsp of hot chili powder (or more/less to taste of course)

Mix in with the onion/mince and fry for a couple of minutes, stirring.

Chuck in a can of chopped tomatoes and a can of kidney beans. Add other things eg mushrooms if you like. I just cook on stove for half an hour on low heat usually so I guess about 4 or 5 hrs in a slow cooker

thanks for that - I certainly wouldn't of thought of adding hot choc powder!! - I'm going to give it a go tommorow.

could I put cocoa powder instead?
