As D and I are trying to be good (as both look heavily pregnant!!) we this week and the week after doing mainly salads for the forseeable future. Getting v bored with them already and currently not enjoying a chicken breast, cottage cheese, salad lunch, bleuuugghh.

I've had some fab salads at home in the evening but need more variety so...

What's your favourite salad?

Jamie Oliver's Summer Chickpea salad is gorgeous and if you dress it with fat free dressing rather than the olive oil it is completely free on a Slimming World green day

peachyClair · 22/06/2006 14:49

bacon, avocado and baby spinach. Cook bacon (in spray oil if so required though olive oil by choice, or sesame); add spinach and cook to a wilt, stir in a little cidder vinegar, add avocado and there you go.

here

cook bacon in oil ????

meowmix · 22/06/2006 14:55

watermelon, feta and olives with loads of parsley and mint.... mmmmmmm

(small salty fish - anchovies maybe??)

peachyClair · 22/06/2006 15:04

spray oil- as recommended by WeightWatchers- is fine, as is the bacon you get that is low in fat (no not turkey rashers, give me some crdit!)

both WW no count foods (although obv if you unscrew the spray oil bottle and pour it on your spuds ans Dh does then your chances of lardiness multiply dramatically LOL)

CountessDracula · 22/06/2006 15:09

bacon needs no oil imo

CountessDracula · 22/06/2006 15:09

God I tried that spray olive oil it was gross

bundle · 22/06/2006 15:10

you do not need any kind of oil to cook bacon imo. grilling is good, or dry-frying.

bundle · 22/06/2006 15:10

the spray stuff isn't "just" olive oil, i agree it's pants

tenalady · 22/06/2006 15:12

Oh how I envy you lot and how you can just chuck stuff together. I cannot stand cooking or even worse the preparation. I have no problem eating it though I would gladly go hungry than prepare food, how bad is that.

peachyClair · 22/06/2006 16:05

It may be pants but the liquid with the oil is intended to act a a dressing.

I shall take my recipes elsewhere- never thought I'd flounce on a food thread but why should I let Greensleeves have all the flouncy fun?

bundle · 22/06/2006 16:08

but what's in it?

peachyClair · 22/06/2006 16:08

(mousie mousie- am I being dramatic enough to get well known yet????) LOL!)

crazydazy · 23/06/2006 10:24

Thanks Meowmix yes Anchovies, they are gorgeous, my favourite fish.
