Where to buy gluten free flour

I've been asked to make some cakes for a local cafe and some of them need to be gluten free, where would i buy it from? Health shop maybe or supermarket? Just been to asda thinking they may just have some but nope, so is it more specialised shops i need to look for?

It's everywhere.

In Tesco, it's in the 'Free From' aisle, with the dairy-free etc. stuff.

I get the Dove's Farm gluten free plain/sr flour and just use it as a replacement in recipes.

I get it from Tesco and Waitrose.

Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco and Waitrose all sell gluten free flour. Two of my friends are coeliac and say that all the supermarkets offer a wide range of gluten free stuff these days.

I buy from asda. Its in the normal flour aisle and the free from part.

If your using xanthum gum be careful not to over mix. I forgot I left the mixer on once amd it came out like elastic!

Oh thanks everyone, couldnt see it in the normal place but maybe they had run out as they do at this time of night, will check out tesco tomorrow.

Stupid question, do you use it the same way as the normal s/r or plain flours?

It should be with all the 'free from' stuff - if it is kept with the other flour there is a risk of contamination.

I do. Depending on how much the recipe asks for I add the xanthum. I've done without but the texture is not nice.

Oh and I use GF baking powder too.
