Hi my baby is 3 wks old and I'm just breastfeeding. Please can somebody tell me is it ok to eat spicy food. I love spicy food and ate loads throughout my pregnancy but I'm worried now I'm bf. will it be ok ?
Also is it safe to have a drink when bf ?
How much would be ok
Thanks

Spicy food is fine, lamb rogan josh for tea last night here.

I think current NHS website says one or two units, once or twice a week, same as in later pregnancy. I don't drink that often but have BF after half a bitter or a small glass of wine occasionally with no ill effects. I choose not to do it more often as it makes the broken nights much harder!

You're "allowed" but I found anything with chilli in left DS very upset so I gave it a miss at the beginning at least.

some dc don't seem to like the taste, but others don't mind.

Hi
I ate spicy food when I BF both my children with no ill effects. I'd stick to the NHS recommended guidelines on alcohol, I did have the odd glass of wine when BF and no worries.
Have fun and enjoy!
