I would see how tge looked/smelt tonight

InternationalPower · 07/09/2013 08:19

I think they'll be fine. If they look and smell OK, they're definitely fine.

schmalex · 07/09/2013 08:53

I wouldn't eat them. 90 mins out of the fridge max (according to my food hygiene training). 24 hours out of the fridge definitely too long.

PenelopePitstops · 07/09/2013 09:03

They'll be fine.

Schmalex food hygiene is notoriously 'strict' and borders on ridiculous.

InternationalPower · 07/09/2013 09:06

I agree Penelope - food hygiene training assumes no-one has any common sense so has to be completely rule based.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/09/2013 09:06

I'd eat them. Mince I wouldn't.

Littlemissexpecting · 07/09/2013 09:08

How warm was your kitchen yesterday?

GoAndAskDaddy · 07/09/2013 10:59

They'll be fine. A proper butcher would mature meat this way!

eurochick · 07/09/2013 11:03

I'd use the sniff test - if they smell fine, I would eat them.

MrsDoomsPatterson · 07/09/2013 11:05

Yes, 21 day aged meat, just an extra day! Enjoy.

mrspremise · 07/09/2013 12:08

If they smell funny, then don't eat them. But I doubt very much that they will, so enjoy your steak dinner! Rib eyes are lush Smile

DameDeepRedBetty · 07/09/2013 12:11

I ate rib-eye that hadn't been fridged last week.

I'm not dead.

Facebaffle · 07/09/2013 12:16

Eat them.

If we don't see you posting for a couple of days then maybe you shouldn't have eaten them afterall Smile

somersethouse · 07/09/2013 12:23

Will be fine as long as you eat them today!

WestmorlandSausage · 07/09/2013 12:26

yeah I say eat them unless your kitchen was really warm yesterday and they've started to look grey round the edges. Your supposed to cook meat once its reached room temperature any way.

Onesleeptillwembley · 07/09/2013 12:36

Chicken or pork, hell, no. Good beef? Yes, should be fine.

Elsiequadrille · 07/09/2013 14:27

Yes, I would. They'll be fine.

schmalex · 07/09/2013 16:26

Seems I am in the minority! Good luck...

21 day aged beef is hung in refrigerated conditions, not at room temp!

flippyfloppy · 07/09/2013 17:34

Thanks all!....I'm still a bit unsure, ill do sniff test later and I'll report back x

we take beef out at lunchtime to make it tender to eat for supper so this is only a bit longer. definitely would.

VivaLeBeaver · 07/09/2013 19:32

I agree, I'd eat beef but not pork and certainly not chicken.

Jbck · 07/09/2013 19:36

Are you stuck in the loo OP? Grin

flippyfloppy · 07/09/2013 21:50

I chickened out!.... Bought two new ones couldn't bear not having a Steak id craved for, and knowing me i would have spoiled the meal by dissecting every mouthful! However they are still in fridge and DH not impressed that I bought new ones!... He of cast iron stomachs! We like steak medium rare , so I may over cook them in a stroganoff or something tomorrow. Thanks all x x
