Grin I love cherries too, but these are the "cooking" kind, I'm told. They are a bit tart when eaten alone.

Stone 'em and freeze 'em. No need to do anything else, just bung them in. Then use them for cherry pie or crumble in winter. Yummy.

we had a glut of strawberries the other weekend (over-enthusiastic pick-your-owning), and I made jam from a recipe my mum used to use that involves no boiling or testing for setness etc and hence is dead easy.
