It looks lovely, but complicated.

Can anyone inspire me with tales if yummy foods and very simple recipes?

Coleslaw is easy using the slicer/grater thingy.

White cabbage
Carrot
Onion

Mix with mayo, lemon juice and seasoning.

Also good for a veg soup:

Get one stew/soup pack from tesco or wherever, blitz to a fine chop then boil in stock. Add lentils etc if you want.

Jamie Oliver's 15 and 30 minute meals rely heavily on the magimix and there's some great recipes in them.

Smoothie - any berry, banana, juice, yogurt or milk for uber healthy breakfasts. Also , biscuit dough, pastry and cake batter work surprisingly well. Quick brrrrrr and job's a good one! I love mine so much.

I love my magi mix, like low level I use mine for making homemade coleslaw as its so much nicer. Also use it for grating large quantities of veg or cheese when the grater will take too long to use. Magi mix grates up veg in no time! Also make breadcrumbs with it, blending soups, whizzing up cheesecake fillings. I keep it on kitchen work surface so it's ready to use rather than in a cupboard.

Crumble in 2 minutes: 3oz butter, straight from the fridge, 3oz sugar, 8oz SR flour. Put it in the big bowl with the big blade, quick blitz, layer over fruit and sugar of your choice.

I love my magimix use it to make pesto, hoummous, doner kebab, burgers, meatballs, for chopping large quantities when batch cooking, smoothies, pastry and biscuits.

Right, I used it! >1kg of carrots grated, soup in slow cooker, made scones, then I'll blitz the soup when it's ready. I love it!

I grate cheese in my Magimix, cheddar and parmesan are standard stock items for my fridge, and most weeks I will either do gruyère or edam as well. It is also great for whizzing onions, celery and carrots together for a soffrito/mirepoix paste to start stews/casseroles etc off. And for blending pâté Wink

UnicornsPooGlitter · 07/09/2013 22:16

Oh mrspremise, you sound amazing Grin. Please come and live with me for 1 week, and teach me lots of culinary skills.

I made Jamie Oliver's flatbreads too tonight! They're great, although too salty for me, so I'll reduce that next time.

I use mine all the time - everytime you pick up a knife, use your magimix!

so - main things..

  1. Chop veg for most meals
  2. Slice spuds to make dauphinoisse almost daily now - loads of variations - use cream, milk, stock, add mushrooms or anchovies - dead easy when machine does the slicing!
  3. Make cake and cookie and crumble mixes
  4. Make Peanut butter - new discovery - and lovely - loads better than shop bought as 100% peanuts and no added oil or sugar as in shop bought. Can also make almond and other butters ..
  5. Use to make soup - chop the veg and then purree soup when cooked
  6. Make own boursin - chop garlic and herbs in small bowl and add cream cheese
7, Make all sorts of flavoured butters - garlic, herb, smoked paprike - cream butter in the bowl and chuck in flavouring . Make into small pats and freeze - throw onto cooked veg or meats to make boring food really seem fancy!
  1. Make slushies - use the metal blade to slush up ice - use the blade to whizz up a couple of limes add a little sugar and water - home made lemonade..
