making mash - can I leave potato peel on?

No it won't taste odd but it'll be really lumpy...

I agree. It will probably taste fine, but it will be full of bits of the skin.

I never peel my potatoes for mash. It is fine, a bit lumpy, but I copy the top chefs and call it crushed potatoes!!

I am too lazy fond of fibre to peel potatoes much. So often make mash with skin on. It's not the smoothest mash but I enjoy the extra flavour/reduced work. But you need to cut the potatoes up quite small and the peel gets stuck in the masher so needs poking out at intervals.

If you use a ricer, the peel stays behind and you still get lovely smooth mash!
I invested in one recently and wish I had bought one sooner!
