Can I cook using frozen veg/fruit, then freeze the resulting dish?

For example, can I use frozen peas, make pea soup, then freeze it? I have a vague idea you can't freeze, defrost then re-freeze but maybe that's just for animal products?

TIA

Yes, you can cook and refreeze fruit and veg. And it's OK for meat too as long as you make sure it's thoroughly cooked before it's refrozen and then eaten promptly after you've defrosted the cooked dish.

Yes!

If it's something you're cooking then you can. If you defrost something and don't cook it then it's not a great idea to re-freeze it

I use frozen veggies all the time (so much cheaper) and then refreeze the meals you are fine :)
