I know I live here and should know but I'm looking for ideas for places I haven't been. It's a special occasion so want something where you splash out a bit and perhaps wouldn't normally go.

TIA

Sorry if I don't reply for a while - dealing with kids!

Oh, wrt type of food - needs to have simple-ish food as one of the party won't eat chinese, indian, mexican etc. Could be Italian or otherwise somewhere that does something like steak.

Does it have to be "posh" or can it be very nice pub type place? Am thinking of Prestbury.

GDG · 14/06/2006 15:38

Ooh, yes, Prestbury is lovely!! That would be fine - now what is there in Prestbury - The White House and isn't there a something Grill in Prestbury???

The Wizard at Alderley Edge is good (but small). Also, Simply Heathcotes in Manchester, bit more lively. Some good places in Didsbury area also, veggie restaurant (the Lime Tree, I think) is v good.

The Bar & Grill is in Alderley. Quite good, depends on what you want really.

On bottom of that link there's eating out in Knutsford - what about La Belle Epoque?

Berries · 14/06/2006 15:43

Was just about to suggest the Belle Epoque - haven't been for a few years but was lovely & apparently still is.

Ooh, thanks for all this - I see a Cheshire theme! I know Alderley and Prestbury so both are good for me. Will look into all of them.
