If the recipe says rolled oats, can I use porridge oats?

I'm making Nigella breakfast bars but I'm out of rolled oats. Can I use porridge oats instead?

I'm not really sure of the difference!

Thank you

Aren't they the same thing?

IDismyname · 12/08/2013 16:04

Yes, you can. As long as they're not Ready Brek type oats, and the oats you're using are of a reasonable size.

Thank you so much!

I always use porridge oats. (not instant).

I love Nigella's breakfast bar recipe. I love to make it with apricots and chopped almonds and it's like a tastier version of those expensive eat natural bars. I've also used the reduced fat condensed milk and it works just as well.

I think I'll have to make some more.

They turned out really well and I also use the reduced fat condensed milk!

Thanks
