Was it very bloody.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 13/06/2006 19:00

You are being paranoid.

Still here then? Wink

emkana · 13/06/2006 19:01

Not very bloody, mostly white but slightly bloody in places and just a little bit pink-ish.

So it will be okay will it?
The girls ate quite a bit of it, and me some,
and the last thing I need now is for them to have salmonella or whatever.

Not all chickens have the salmonella bacteria in them, and many birds are vaccinated against it, too, I think. So chances are you'll all be fine.

Dior · 13/06/2006 19:10

Well, if it had salmonella bacteria in it and you didn't cook it properly, I believe that you could all be a bit (!) sick soon. My BIL had it once and was very poorly. However, if the chicken doesn't have the bacteria, you would be fine AFAIK.

Look out for these:

Diarrhoea or constipation.

Headaches.

Stomach cramps.

Nausea and vomiting.

Fever.

Possibly, blood in the faeces.

emkana · 13/06/2006 19:26

oh gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd...

please let it be okay. Sad

was it a whole chicken? when my dp cooks chicken its always pinkish near the bone, blinkin blokes, haven't been sick from it yet !

crazydazy · 13/06/2006 19:28

Was it legs or breast Emkana because the meat on the legs can be quite pinkish in places and this is normall.

crazydazy · 13/06/2006 19:28

"normal" even

emkana · 13/06/2006 19:29

ive had chicken like that before, you'll be fine, try not to worry (easier said than done probably)

emkana · 13/06/2006 19:45
Sad

I'm having a crap day anyway, just want to leave the country atm, not that that would change anything.

threebob · 13/06/2006 20:07

If it makes you ill it will be quite quick from personal experience.

morningpaper · 13/06/2006 20:09

Yes if it makes you ill it will be in about 4-6 hours

Obviously you are probably shaking and feeling sick now but that's just psychosomatic :)

Florizel · 13/06/2006 20:11

You'll be fine. or if your'e not, I'll go first: I just ate re-heated chicken that was left out overnight, having been cooked. The really awful thing Blush was that I accidentally left the oven on underneath it when it was out all night, so it was specially tepid and germ-friendly.

I didn't give it to the children and microwaved it to death before I ate it today, but if I don't report back tomorrow, send in the ambulance!

Florizel · 13/06/2006 20:14

having just read what i've just done, I am horrified. really, what a blinking idiot! I was so hungry and dh is out playing squash, so i just scoffed what was there. Don't tell my mum!

Dior · 14/06/2006 12:25

So Emkana - is your house one of vomit and poo today? Wink

Florizel · 14/06/2006 17:14

ta daa! I'm still alive!
how about you and yours, emkana?

emkana · 14/06/2006 18:52

Lol

We're all okay I'm glad to say! Smile

OP posts:
crazydazy · 14/06/2006 20:11

Must admit I was worried about both of you but didn't want to say.

Dior · 15/06/2006 13:39

Phew! Glad no-one pegged it!
