Sausages! Does anyone have a tasty recipe to share?

Pretty please . Got a packet to use up. Usually do a sausage pasta bake with a passata and marscapone sauce but fancy a change.

A favourite in this house is bake the sausages in the oven and serve with a gravy with loads of softened onions in it. With cheesy mash and peas and its true comfort food

Sausages in a pot with tinned tomatoes, onions, red peppers, chopped potatoes, paprika, red wine and/or Worcestershire sauce

Serve with crusty bread

This is very nice - all in one bake with mustard and marmalade with new pots. Marmalade sounds but odd I guess but just gives it sweet tang - sort of honey n mustard style.

Braised sausages! So easy!
Brown sausages and then drain off fat. Take from the frying pan. Cook some onions and mushrooms then add sausages add a stock cube cover with water and simmer for at least 30 mins but as long as possible is best! Add more water if needed Freezes really well!

Another one with pork and apple sausages is to pan fry them til cooked with chopped apple and onion. Remove sausages from pan and make a roux (butter and flour) add to the pan with cider of your choice to make a sauce

Serve with mash or chips

I've made sweet chilli bangers quite often. Makes sausages more interesting and is dead easy.

Haha squoosh, that "proper blokes' pasta" is essentially the same as the pregnant Jools/Gwyneth one.

Take them out the skins, break them up in a pan, fry off with thyme, garlic, bit of lemon zest maybe, add mushrooms if you have any, stir though some mascarpone, serve on pasta. It's a Nigel Slater recipe that I am poorly quoting because I can't remember it exactly but it's lovely.

Fry sliced onions & garlic til soft. Add tin of chopped toms, big squirt of tom puree and Italian herbs. Leave to bubble gently while you grill or fry sausages.

Meanwhile boil & mash spuds, adding lots of ground pepper, a dollop of cream and LOTS of grated parmesan.

Slice up the sausages into chunks and add, with black olives, to the sauce just before serving.

Yum - thanks! I love that Jamie recipe, no matter how he titles it, but sadly the kids don't . Just thinking what I have in the cupboard/fridge. Fancy the sausage in a pot, I think, asI have a few Cyprus pots in the fridge that I could use up.

Sourredstones, how do you do it? Will the potatoes (chopped) cook in the tomatosauce or should I pre-cook?

Not at all but I hope Sourredstones sees my question cos I'm not sure whether to fry the says and veg first or just bung the whole kit and caboodle in a casserole, shove it in the oven and let it bubble - which is what I'd really like to do!!

I made the oven-baked ratatouille and sausages recipe from the last Good Food magazine and it was lush.

Chop up veg (recommended peppers, onions and courgettes) then roast with olive oil in 200C oven for 20 mins (brown off sausages in a frying pan while the veg is cooking). Chuck in a can of chopped tomatoes and some chopped garlic, bung sausages on top and bake for another 20 mins. Yum!

Chuck it all in. Brown the sausages and cook it all as a casserole for about an hour
