Diagnosed with gallstones - lost 6 lb this week - I'm hungry!

Hello all,

I'm looking for some help. I need some very low fat meal ideas. A week ago I had my second ever gallstone attack but rather than it lasting the 5 hours of intense pain then going away, it then calmed down to a constant dull ache which intensifies after eating, more so if I eat anything fatty. That is what I am suffering with today and for the last 6 days. As a result, for a few days I didn't eat much at all and now I'm trying to keep to very low fat meals (todays dinner was probably less than 5g of fat). I'm struggling with ideas though, so I'm here looking for ideas.

I have been to the doctor, he has advised me to avoid fatty foods and referred me for a scan but also advised me that I have to wait it out until everything settles down on its own. Sad

TIA

Chicken noodle soup: chopped chicken breast, carrots, peas, sweet corn, soy, five spice, ginger and spring onions in a very light broth with rice noodles if even egg noodles are too rich. It's lovely with lemon verbena chopped in too if you have nay growing in the garden.

Pasta pomodoro - spaghetti with a sauce of onion & garlic sweated in a tiny amount of oil, with tomatoes, courgettes, different coloured peppers and mushrooms, add fresh herbs. Puree half the sauce to thicken it and stir it back in to the chopped half.

Baked spuds with mild chilli or baked beans or home made coleslaw made with yoghurt and a tiny amount of low fat mayo.

Grilled or baked white fish with new potatoes and steamed veg.

couscous with grilled peppers, baby tomatoes, red onions and garlic cloves, courgettes and aubergines sprinkled with fresh herbs

pork steaks cooked in a pan with cider or apple juice instead of fat, served with white rice and steamed veg.

Dahl and rice with spicy spinach

DON'T eat anything remotely spicy (been there)

I'm sorry, it's rubbish but I lived on bran flakes (dry- I don't drink milk at the best of times), wholemeal bread and marmite and the odd bit of low fat sweet and sour chicken.

6 months from diagnosis to the OP for me- and only got it then because I badgered the consultant.

I had the constant pain with occasional excruciating flare ups.

Lost 5 stone....
