Take 2 Tescos chocolate mini rolls, ideally purchased in preparation for your child's birhtday party. Place them in a bowl, microwave for about 30 seconds (until the middle starts oozing out), top with ice cream and eat.

Then you have to go out and buy some more for the party boxes. Sigh.

Jaffacakes with hot custard poured over...

stupidgirl · 10/02/2004 22:17

I'm sooo glad I'm not the only one who...'borrows' my children's chocolate

lydialemon · 10/02/2004 22:21

Nearly Easter, when MIL always goes OTT with the chocys so DH and I are forced to whittle the supplies down every evening

Slinky · 10/02/2004 22:21

Goodness no...."testing" their chocolate is part of being a mummy

I mean, the way I see it, is it's better for their teeth/health not to eat lots of chocolate and it's wasteful to chuck it away...and...I know they have "eat before" dates of months away...but well you never know, it may still go off....then they might get ill from dodgy chocolate....so it's best all round if I just eat it!

Looking forward to Easter when they'll get masses and I just have to "help" them. Already warned people that kids only like Cadbury's or Galaxy chocolate

Lisa78 · 10/02/2004 22:23

When DS1 was little, I used to eat the middles out of his eggs then wrap them back up !! Bad mother!

Anyway, am telling the moderators on you lot - and Beccarollover - and Coddy

Lisa78 · 10/02/2004 22:24

Oh, and I once had to buy him a new advent calendar cos I took the back off and ate all the chocolates out of it

Slinky · 10/02/2004 22:25

ooooh Lisa

that's a good idea about the Easter Eggs

Don't think I'd get away with it though with DD1 and DS1

Lisa78 · 10/02/2004 22:29

You don't really get easter eggs with things in them anymore slinky, do you? They are part of the box now, ruins Easter if you ask me

butterflymum · 10/02/2004 22:32

Think we should re-name this thread "Chocolate Confessions (Mumsnetters with generous kids)"!

butterfly

Slinky · 10/02/2004 22:39

that's true Lisa! didn't think of that.

I think you can still get Smarties and Buttons that come inside the shell.

lydialemon · 10/02/2004 22:46

Well I'm very very mean, and we break all the eggs down into one big box of chocolate that then goes in the fridge.

But do you want a really shocking chocolate confession? .........I don't actually like chocolate that much( not on its own anyway) Will I get drummed off of MN now?

Ailsa · 10/02/2004 22:46

When I was pg with dd1 I had a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE craving for creme eggs - 6 each day - anyone beat that?

suzywong · 10/02/2004 22:48

Not drummed of MN lydialemon
But you did a very good job of being nice about the january swap

Only teasing I think it's very funny that I just happened to catch this post before I hit the sack

lydialemon · 10/02/2004 22:54

No! Suzywong your chocolate was lovely, and fuelled my bedroom clearout/Angel marathon a treat!

That was flavoured dark chocolate, which like white chocolate doesn't actually count. ( Did you know they actually contain zero calories )

suzywong · 10/02/2004 22:56

Nice digging lydialemon you are nearly out of that hole!!!!

lydialemon · 10/02/2004 22:59

I will go away and hang my head in shame..

fimbles · 11/02/2004 13:28

Ailsa, did u really eat 6 cream eggs per day? U must be the world record holder. I can only stomach about 2 per day.

Do u like the mini eggs with the crispy shell? I like them straight from the fridge.

BTW when is Easter? dd has destroyed my calender.

bundle · 11/02/2004 13:30

(just eating chunk of green & black's plain chocolate with cherries...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm)

fimbles · 11/02/2004 13:44

bundle · 11/02/2004 13:45

Kayleigh · 11/02/2004 23:25

I am slowly working my way through a large carton of cadburys Heroes my boys got for Xmas. Need to empty it as it will make a nice storage container
Don't think anyone has actually realised it's been opened yet. And by the time they do, voila, a storage container

Beccarollover · 12/02/2004 18:02

.........ahem......
