Anyone have any cooking mantras?

Dh and I always say there is very little that cannot be improved by the addition of an egg. Eg pizza, stew, soup, pork pie - all enhanced by an egg.

Anyone else got any cooking mantras?

A pinch (or two) of salt will improve any flavour. I think keep this tip for savoury dishes.
