My recipe calls for a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds but I could only find ground fenugreek. How much to use?

Would be very grateful for some help:

I'm making an aubergine curry, and the recipe calls for one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds. Any experienced cooks out there who know how much ground fenugreek I should use as a substitute for a teaspoon of seeds?

Thanks in advance.

Fenugreek is bitter tasting. I wouldn't want to use powder or seeds. if I had to use it less a couple of pinches of powder so that it is less then a quarter teaspoon. Never tried the powder though so I can't guarantee what your receipe will turn out like
