Just had a look, are about the same. For 100g, Quinoa has 360 cals and Long grain rice has 346!

Auntymandy · 18/05/2006 13:54

Surely if you have 100 grams, they are both the same???? [slightly confused emoticon]

Hm, do you mean do you need LESS quinoa? I think this is maybe the case. I tried it recently and thought I´d used too much. It was really heavy, didn´t enjoy it at all..

Well, brown rice is more filling than white of course.
I love rice and quinoa.
What will you have with it?

rosycheek · 18/05/2006 14:32

Not sure. Will either mix it with some roasted veggies, or might do it with some smoked haddock and some stir fried veg. What do you do with it? Is it a bit like cous-cous?

ooops Blush

I just cook it plain as an accompaniment to curry or something.
However, always cook more than I need so keep what's left and use it like couscous/tabbouleh,and add it to salads.
Very nice with fetta, tomatoes, herbs and spring onions with a home made vinaigrette.
