Simple but dramatic icing ideas needed - I have royal icing, gold balls and gold "paint"

DH has volunteered "us" to donate a cake to a local charity raffle. I've made the cake - a square madeira - and have a roll of ready rolled royal icing, plus bits and bobs in the drawers including gold balls, paint on gold shimmer paint, silver balls, pink glitter etc. I just want to have something very simple but effective. Any ideas please? TIA.

How about a gold butterfly stencil with lacey wings? You could paint gold shimmer paint over a doily to get the detail and then add gold balls along the outline and pick out some bits of the wings in pink glitter?
