Veg for roast dinner. What can I do in advance?

Stupid question but am not a very experienced cook.

Roast dinner tomorrow but not much time to prepare and two kids to look after at same time. Veg is roast potatoes, cabbage, carrots and broccoli.

Can I do any prep of these tonight?

I know how to do the potatoes. But best way to do the carrots and cabbage? And oddly I have never ever cooked broccoli before. Sorry to be so dense.

If you absolutely have to... cut the broccoli into small florets, peel and chop carrots into sticks or rounds or ovals. Peel and cut potatoes into halves/quarters ready for par boiling for roasts or mash.
We very rarely do this as you need to keep everything under water to stop them drying out and that leaches the flavour out of everything, and reduces the 'goodness' as many vitamins are water soluble.
It doesn't take long to do this really, I'd do it all in the morning if you can.

Sorry, missed cabbage. Take off outer leaves and slice thinly. Again, best to keep under water to stop it drying out. I suppose you could put it in a freezer bag with some water but I'm not sure.
