Oh sugar. If I used cumin seed instead of ground cumin in something, is that a disaster?

Searching the cupboards high and low for ground cumin - couldn't find any. Found some cumin seed, and bunged it in without thinking about it.

Is that going to work, or should it be toasted and ground first?

Argh. Angry

It'll work fine. You'll just have a slightly different flavour and the texture will be a little more 'seedy'.

It might be a bit lumpy and a bit less cumin-y, that's all
