OK, what can I make out of these over-ripe plums

Bought a family pack of plums last week and they didn't get eaten for some reason...so I have about 6 or 7 left and they look a little bit 'wrinkly' and therefore unappetising to eat as they are.

Don't want to chuck them out - what can I make? I am not really a dessert person, I always go for savoury (both eating and cooking) so don't really want to make a tart or anything like that. would a chutney work? Or is there something else I could do?

Does anyone have a good recipe?

Well I'd make a crumble. Doesn't have to be too sweet. Use ground almonds and oats instead of flour, and only a spoonful each of sugar and butter to bind it.

But if not, how about cooking them with pork, shallots and a splash of cream? Pork with prunes is a classic and your plums sound half way there. ;)

Thanks racing but the crumble will just encourage me to eat it with loads of ice cream and I am watching my weight lol!

Not sure about the pork as I don't really like pork all that much...but thanks for the suggestions Smile

I would think chutney or relish would work - only problem is you're not going to get much out of 7 plums...most of the recipes I've found use at least 3kg of plums. This is the smallest in terms of quantity and it's 450g and this uses only 12 plums... Do you have any other fruit you could bulk up with? Figs maybe?

Stew them with some venison or, at a push, beef.
