I fancy trying to make some of these but can't find a recipe in my limited supply of recipes!
Has anyone got a simple recipe for meatballs.
Thanks

yes. Buy the pre balled ones from Waitrose. Aberdeen angus steak mince and 12 for £2.49. Fry in a little olive oil, drain fat. Add chopped onion, mushrooms and a bit of crushed garlic. Add one tin of chopped tomatoes and an oxo cube. Cook till meatballs done all the way thru. Serve with spaghetti!

you can use minced pork or minced beef.
Ok, not good with quantities as I tend to go by looks, but

take 2 slices stale bread (brown or white, whizz up in a blender til breadcrumbed, put in a bowl.
Chop up an onion, add mince, salt and pepper, sprinkle of mixed herbs, splodge of tomato puree, dash of paprika (can use chilli powder for spicey neat balls) can use a teaspoon of parmesan at this point if you like) whizz up, with breadcrumbs in a blender.
wet hands, roll into balls. gently fry in olive oil for 5-10 mins. Meanwhile, make a nice tomato sauce (tinned toms, onion, seasoning, garlic etc whatever you like to go into a tomato sauce) Then add meatballs to sauce, sprinkle with cheese, bake for 30 mins. Serve with spagetti.

Really easy and you can vary the added ingredients to suit adults, kids. Also, they freeze very well.

Wetyour mince,

have no idea why this message says 'wet your mince' at the end Grin

have a look on delia smith.com or whatever it is ... she has a lovely recipe

I use Delia's recipe (adapted to our taste)

1lb lean minced beef
8oz good quality sausage meat
1 slice of bread, made into breadcrumbs
Pinch of italien mixed herbs
1 egg
seasoning

Mix together in a bowl and make into balls. Brown them in a frying pan then put into a casserole dish.

For sauce
fry and onion with some garlic, add some mushroom and either tin of chopped tomatoes or passata and I add a couple of teaspoons of sweet chilli sauce and simmer. Pour over the meatballs and cook for 45 mins in the oven.

We love them with stir veggies and noodles as a change to spaghetti.
