Raw peeled tiger prawns - what to do with 'em?

I have approximately 75 kajillion billion cookbooks but can't decide what to do with these prawns for tomorrow night. Problem is, it needs to be diet-friendly and all the interesting recipes I've got involve butter, cream, frying etc. I don't fancy curry either. Any ideas? I'm thinking something with garlic & parsley but what? Would a risotto be a waste of them?

And yes risotto would be a waste, make mushroom risotto instead and give the prawns to me Smile

What you need is to join my new cult here.

in the meantime, do a Spanish tapas style thing. Saute them in olive oil, a good splash of white wine, garlic, shallots, a bit of fresh chopped tomato, some chorizo, loads of fresh parsley, and serve with some crusty bread.

Quick, easy, fresh, delicious, perfect.

Fry them in olive oil with some chillies, garlic, fresh ginger, flat parsley and lemon juice. Serve on ciabatta with a salad. Yum.

I do a rice noodle dish with pak choi, mushrooms, soy, chilli and ginger.
Its a bit different each time but is low cal, low fat and delicious.

Some nice ideas there - the tapas-style one is my fave so far. Though was hoping not to use oil but could try and get away with a little bit.

The linguini one was the only idea I had from my books - it had rocket in it which sounded yum. But I thought pasta might be a bit dull for a Sat night.

Well you could do that recipe without the olive oil, and just add the prawns to the bubbling liquid but any recipe without any fat or oil at all is usually rubbish.

Decided not to worry about the fat content, having wolfed down DS's leftover spaghetti carbonara last night! Would it be nice if the chorizo was cooked first, to release those lovely chorizo-y oils to cook the prawns in, or would that mask the prawn flavour, I wonder? You know what sold this to me? The crusty bread. Oh, I haven't had nice bread in weeks...

No, it would be lovely! Although I am assuming you have either eaten the prawns or they have gone off by now - unless they were frozen.
