We have a cheepy from tesco but it doesn't cook the edge of the bread very well. Has anyone got the ultimate tostie maker?

do you oil your plates before using? that can help

My George Foreman is way better than any toastie maker I've ever had. Grin

I agree that the George is fab, but doesn't quash the edges together like a toasty maker. So much more useful though.

A mn handy tip was to not bother - use a frying pan and squash the sandwich with another heavy pan. I just squash it with a spatula as it's cooking and that works. Sorry, crap advice if you really want a toastie maker!

Mine is utter crap. It's a Breville one with removable plates. It just doesn't get hot enough. It's got terrible reviews on amazon.

I've got a Diablo from Amazon. Makes great toasties. You cook them on the hob. My husband is very impressed and he's most particular!!
