Any idea what type of rice this is?

It's the same length as basmati, but fatter in the middle and yellower.

It isn't risotto or pudding rice.

I have looked at so many pictures of rice on the internet, but can't find it. I bought it a while ago, used most of it, put the rest in an airtight box without the label, and can't remember what on earth it is. Needless to say, when I went back to the Co-op to replenish my store, they only had basmati.

Now curiosity and frustration have got the better of me, and I neeeeeed to know! (I'll try to upload a pic to my profile, and will come back on and tell you when I have. In the meantime..!)

It's not pasta rice is it? I can't remember the exact name for it now.

Are you sure it's not easy cook basmati as it is usually yellower and looks a bit fatter?

Pasta rice is called Orzo :)

aah yes multitask that's the one! My DCs love it.

I don't remember it being called pasta rice, and it doesn't behave like pasta, when I cook it.

Maybe Orzo?

yes Orzo definitely. You can get the wholegrain version too, thats what we use.

Well, who'd a thunk it (as dh says!). In fact, he says NOOOOO! It's not pasta, It's rice!

He doesn't like pasta very much.
