recipe ideas for DS who doesn't eat veg or fruit

he won't touch either if he knows they are there!! any good recipes where the fruit and veg aren't obvious or hidden in other things?

Just whizz up tomatoes, grated carrots, red peppers in magimix and add to bolognaise sauce. The magimix will be your best friend.

BTW, how old is DS? How cunning do you have to be?

You don't even need a magimix, a cheap hand held will do. I roast toms, Aubergine, courgette, pepper, garlic, carrots, onions and then blitz them up - you could even use a fork.

A first I would add them to a jar of pasta sauce for spag Bol, lasagne, shepherds pie and then gradually reduce the jar to nothing.

What about soup?

he is 3 (just). have made various cakes with veg. mixed success if lumps.
only thing i get away with on the veg front is tom sauce, maybe adding a carrot and bit of red pepper and hand blending

Have made pumpkin and courgette bread/muffins, courgette fritters (kind of American style pancake with grated courgette in). Would he eat veggie burgers (homemade from mashed mix veg)? I have friends who put veg e.g. spinach in fruit smoothies. What foods does he like then maybe we can suggest similar dishes or ways to sneak in veg?

My DD (4) is the same. I cook a lot of spag bol or meatballs and pasta and put puréed veg in.

Does he like pesto? I always add something to it - a lump of chopped frozen spinach, or some finely grated courgette, or some very finely chopped broccoli tops (not the stems), or all of them if I'm feeling racy the spinach in particular has never been detected as it is the sane size as the basil.

I make a smooth bolognaise sauce which I use for spaghetti and lasagne which I blend mince with onions, mushrooms, peppers, courgettes and tomatoes.

Grated courgette goes into burgers and meatballs.

Leeks finely sliced in mashed potato.

A cube of frozen spinach can be chucked into loads of things like omelettes, scrambled eggs, frittata.

Chilli with really finely chopped green peppers so you can see them, serve with nachos so more fun to eat!

The baby led weaning website has loads of muffin and scone recipes with hidden veg on it.

Mine will also eat filled pasta, like butternut squash in tortellini.

You can make delicious american-style pancakes with all sorts of veg mixed in (plus some cheese) - jus whizz up a batter with 1 egg, a rounded tbsp of SR flour, some veg (I use a couple of spoons of sweetcorn kernels and half a carrot) and some grated cheese, with enough milk to get a thick but pourable consistency and a tiny bit of baking powder (there's some already in the SR flour but I think they need a bit more).

Pour 10cm circles of batter into a hot pan, wait till the bottom is brown then turn. Allow to cool a little - warm but touchable - and serve as if they are slices of bread, spread with butter and marmite.

If we have children staying for tea that are averse to fruit and veg I'll make up some pasta sauce before hand and then add it to whatever I'm cooking like you would a jar and they're none the wiser. So garlic, onions, celery, peppers, courgettes, tomatoes, aubergines (whatever is in the fridge really) and blend it once cooked til smooth.
Or I use frozen fruit to make smoothies, or make pictures on the plate -broccoli for trees, peas for grass, mash for clouds etc.
